Elite Medical first aid at work pre-hospital training uk

Anaphylaxis is a rare but frightening autoimmune response of the body. The effects of anaphylaxis can lead to numerous effects on the body, including itching, swelling, feeling of faintness and difficulty in breathing, plus the very visible sign of swelling around the mouth.

Unfortunately, anaphylaxis can be fatal, however with early recognition and management, the risk can be reduced.

Many anaphylactic patients carry the medicine, adrenaline. This medicine given through the Epi-Pen can have life-saving effects on the patient, however other management support can also increase a positive outcome.

This course will explain anaphylaxis, the treatments and management, should you ever come across that patient with the life-threatening condition.
