Overview
Did you know that there were 158 fatal injuries to workers in the agriculture, forestry and fishing sector in the last 5 years? The QA Level 3 Award in Forestry First Aid +F (RQF) qualification is ideal for those who work or intend to work in a forestry, agricultural or remote environment, such as tree surgeons and farmers.
Successful learners will be equipped with the knowledge and practical skills needed to treat a range of injuries and diseases that could occur in these environments, such as Lyme disease and catastrophic bleeding.
Designed to accompany a regulated First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work qualification, this nationally recognised qualification has been specifically developed to meet the recommendations of the Forestry Commission First Aid at Work Policy.

The QA Level 3 Award in Forestry First Aid +F (RQF) is designed to accompany a valid and appropriate Emergency First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work qualification. This qualification outlines the basic knowledge and practical skills for providing emergency first aid when certain special hazards are identified. Learners will practise managing an incident and demonstrate how to treat specific conditions.
Aim of Qualification
The objective of the qualification is to benefit Learners by providing them with appropriate first aid training, in a forestry context, as set out in the First Aid at Work – Forestry Commission Policy enabling them to attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with specific special hazards in an emergency situation.
Intended Audience
This qualification is for people who hold or intend to complete an Emergency First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work qualification who may deal with special hazards in an emergency situation within a forestry/agricultural context.
Note: Those working in core operations on Forestry Commission land will require an appropriate and valid Emergency First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work qualification in combination with this QA Level 3 Award in Forestry First Aid +F (RQF) qualification.
Entry Requirements
Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training. There are no other formal entry requirements but we strongly recommend Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent
Requalification Requirements
This qualification is valid for a period of 3 years. The Learner needs to retake the qualification before the certificate expiry date to remain qualified.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
The training venue should be quiet and undisturbed. Staff should not be expected to be on duty. Staff attending should remain for the entire length of the session.
